Webometrics Ranking of Mahasarakham University – 2017 Edition

กองประชาสัมพันธ์และกิจการต่างประเทศ Divisions of Public Relations and International AffairsMahasarakham University took the 14th place among 180 Thai universities ranked. MSU has been placed 1613rd in the world, 457th in Asia, 34th in South East Asia in the January 2017 edition of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

The Webometrics Ranking is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions and is aimed at promoting academic web presence and supporting the Open Access initiatives for increasing significantly the transfer of scientific and cultural knowledge generated by the university to the whole society. Webometrics ranking is published twice a year, in the end of January and in the end of July. There are about 25,000 universities ranked in it.

MSU organized the 2nd Workshop on MSU Student Ambassadors Leadership

กองประชาสัมพันธ์และกิจการต่างประเทศ Divisions of Public Relations and International AffairsOn February 18 - 19, 2017, Mahasarakham University organized a workshop on MSU Student Ambassadors Leadership. There were 57 student representatives from 8 faculties of MSU participating in this event; namely, Faculty Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Informatics, Faculty of Cultural Sciences and Mahasarakham Business School.


This two-day MSU Student Ambassadors leadership workshop provided MSU student ambassadors with the opportunities to empower themselves and improve their leadership skills.

The 1st session of the workshop was conducted by Dr. Inthisarn Chaiyasuk, a lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, MSU. He specializes in being a professional MC for events and ceremonies. The 2nd session was conducted by Dr. Preecha Chaiya, a lecturer in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. He talked about personality and how to be a good guide. At the end of the workshop, the participants also got to hear from the experienced speakers from MSU Office of International Affairs about engagement with Office of International Affairs programs and services.

MSU welcomed the delegates from IGSNRR, Chinese Academy of Sciences

กองประชาสัมพันธ์และกิจการต่างประเทศ Divisions of Public Relations and International AffairsOn February 21, 2017, Mahasarakham University administrators and staff led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chonlatee Photong, Assistant to the President for Public Relations and International Affairs hosted a reception for the researchers from the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.

Eight researchers from IGSNRR led by Prof. Gaohuan Liu visited MSU for the purposes of conducting joint research between IGSNRR and Assistant Professor Dr. Arika Bridhikitti, and
Dr. Thayukorn Ptabamroong from Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, MSU.
This collaborative research project is funded by National Research Council of Thailand and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NRCT-NSFC) in the area of watershed sustainable developments in the context of the “Future Earth” Program. This 4-year- research project has been started from January 1, 2017 until December 31, 2020 and advised by Associate Professor Dr. Anongrit Kangrang, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering on behalf of MSU party.

MSU welcomed the delegate from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED)

กองประชาสัมพันธ์และกิจการต่างประเทศ Divisions of Public Relations and International AffairsOn February 14, 2017, Mahasarakham University administrators and staff led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chonlatee Photong, Assistant to the President for Public Relations and International Affairs, and
Assistant Professor Dr. Pornlapas Suwannarat, Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs, Mahasarakham Business School hosted a reception for Professor Dr. Agus Suroso, MS, Director of Ph.D. Management from Universitas Jenderal  Soedirman, Indonesia.

The purposes of his visit to MSU were to: (1) learn about learning and teaching, and administration and management at Mahasarakham Business School; (2) promote his and UNSOED’s research papers; and (3) discuss present and future collaboration between MSU and UNSOED. According to the discussion, the representatives from our two institutions have agreed to build a stronger relationship through more activities including staff and student exchange programs.

MSU and UNSOED signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in September 2012.  Since then, both parties have worked together in our efforts to support cooperation and enhance student mobility.

University of the Philippines Manila and Sanata Dharma University Visits MSU-Office of International Affairs

กองประชาสัมพันธ์และกิจการต่างประเทศ Divisions of Public Relations and International AffairsOn November 14, 2016, delegates from the University of the Philippines Manila and Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia received a warm welcome from MSU Assistant to the President for Public Relations and International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chonlatee Photong at the Office of International Affairs.

Prof.Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wongwiwat Tassaneeyakul, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy led Prof. Dr. Yolanda R. Robles and Prof. Monet M. Loquias of the College of Pharmacy, University of the Philippines Manila and Prof. Dr. Aris Widayati into a beneficial collaborative discussion on academic cooperation management on Professional Pharmaceutical Training and Joint Research with the Office of International Affairs.

On the other side, MSU Student Mobility opportunities was brought out such as Exchange Student, Internship and Camps. In addition,
OIA expressed their plan on making collaboration with the university in the ASEAN country groups that will stand out in the field of pharmacist that could help and support the development of learning, teaching and research.
